Spread Spectrum Installation Guide 

 
Additional Repeaters 

 
Additional Repeaters can be installed to increase the range of pivot RTUs.  If 
needed multiple Repeaters can be daisy chained together to increase the range 
even farther.  The diagram below shows Repeater C being used to extend the 
range of Repeater B.  Note that Repeater C has directional antennas on both of 
its radio modules. 
 

 

 

Non-Standard FieldNET Items 

 
The Base RTU Installation kit includes a 13-2018-

0 short range (500’) whip 

antenna.  If the Base RTU requires a different antenna, such as a 12-0428-0 
omni directional antenna, it must be ordered separately along with a 12-1545-0 
adaptor cable.  If the antenna for the Base RTU is mounted more than 13 feet 
from the Base RTU an additional antenna cable will be needed.  Have a local 
radio shop make a cable from LMR400 or similar coaxial cable with a 
characteristic impedance of 50 Ohms and one type N male connector and one 
type N female connector. 
 
Repeater Kits are shipped with one 12-1546-0 8.5 dB directional antenna and 
one 12-0428-0 omni directional antenna and two 12-0477-0 adaptor cables.  If
