Example 4
The diagram below shows a FieldNET installation with RTUs that communicate
through a repeater and RTUs that communicate directly with the Base RTU. One
of the pivot RTUs A uses two directional antennas to “bend” the radio signal to
Repeater B. The Base RTU D has an omni directional antenna instead of the
factory default whip antenna.
Communication Paths
The pivot RTUs A communicate with the left radio module of Repeater B. The
right radio module of Repeater B communicates with the Base RTU D. The pivot
RTU C communicates directly with Base RTU D.
Antennas
Pivot RTUs A: (5) factory default directional antennas and two 12-154-0
directional antenna with a 13-8921-0 cable for RF bending ordered separately.
Repeater B: Factor default directional and omni directional antenna.
Pivot RTUs C: Factory default. Directional antenna.
Base RTU D: 12-0428-0 omni directional antenna and 12-1545-0 adaptor cable
ordered separately. To mount the omni directional antenna on a roof a length of
LMR400 or equivalent coaxial cable with one type N male connector and one
type N female connector is required. This cable is not supplied by Lindsay but
can be acquired from a local radio shop.
Hop Patters
Hop Pattern 2: All pivot RTUs A and left radio module of Repeater B
Hop Pattern 4: Right radio module of Repeater B, pivot RTUs C and Base RTU
D.
