Rx/Tx LEDs
When the RTU receives a message on its hop pattern the Rx LED will blink.
When the RTU transmits a message the Tx LED will blink. Use these LEDs to
verify that the RTU is transmitting and receiving data.
Hop Pattern Configuration
Configuration Switches 1 -3 set the hop pattern for the RTU. Every device that is
directly communicating must be on the same hop pattern. There are 8 hop
patterns to choose from. All pivot mounted FieldNET RTUs must have switch 4
in the rightmost “OFF” position as shown be
llow. Placing switch 4 in the leftmost
“ON” position configures the RTU as a Base.
FieldNET Pivot RTU Hop Patterns 0 to 7
Placing Configuration Switch 4 in the leftmost “ON” position configures the RTU
as a Base. Switches 1 - 3 are used to select the same hop patterns for pivot
RTUs and Base RTUs.
FieldNET Base RTU Hop Patterns 0 to 7
Before changing the position of Switches 1-4 remove power from the RTU. Wait
10 seconds before changing the position of Switches 1-4. The RTU only checks
the position of these switches during power up so it is important to wait for the
power to be completely drained from the RTU.
