Headphone Jack Board (PCB-008)
Theory of Operation:
Audio out is provided via a Headphone Jack board. The Headphone Jack board is inside the angled, over-molded
assembly and is screwed into the rear bezel. The board also has TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) devices to shunt
ESD energy to the chassis. This part is easily serviceable.
Functions/Connectors:
Connector to Main Board Contains Right / Left analog audio, headphone detect, and ground from the Main board
and shield ground to the chassis.
Headphone Jack
Contains Right / Left analog audio, detect, and ground.
Troubleshooting tips:
No sound:
• Plug headphones into the Headphone Jack board.
• Make sure that the connectors are properly seated at the Headphone Jack PCBA and Main
board.
• Make sure the headphone jack cable is not pinched or severed.
• Try a different, known good, cable.
• Verify the audio source’s volume (Attachable TV or MyE) is not muted or very low.
• Verify that the media buttons control the TV or MyE device and power is on to the TV or
MyE.
• Verify that the cables to the Attachable TV or MyE device are connected properly.
• Verify that the headphones are good.
Distorted sound:
When wiggling the headphone connector that is plugged into the Headphone Jack board, if
the sound is distorted, cracks, or pops, then replace the Headphone Jack board.
