Functions/Connectors:
J1 Base Power Contains power (+12 VDC or +24 VDC) from base, plus Verp and E-Stop signals.
J2 Base Signal Contains handlebar buttons, E-Stop (to magnet/tether), Life Pulse signals.
J3 Attachable TV Contains R/L audio input and TV detect signal from TV, plus IR control signal to
TV.
J4 Base Communication Contains RS-485 Rx & Tx twisted pairs from base.
J7 Audio Out Contains Audio R/L output to / headphone detect signal from Headphone Jack.
J8 Polar Co3.3 VDC power to / telemetry pulse input signal from Polar RE-07
board.
J10 NPE Co3.3 VDC power, UART, I2S, and reset signals to North Pole Eng’s GEM
Module (supports BLE / GymKit / NFC).
J11 Keypad switches (Flat flex) Contains matrix of 7 strobes x 7 returns to read console buttons, plus Go, Stop
and Detect signals.
J12 Keypad LEDs (Flat flex) Contains 17 low-side LED drive signals, +5 VDC for high side of the LEDs, and a
Detect signal.
J13 Message Center (Flat flex) Co3.3 VDC & +5 VDC power, SPI port, and 4 GPIO (used with LCD) to
Message Center board.
J14 USB (User) Contains USB signals (+5 VDC and D+/D-) to user accessible USB port at console
front.
J15 USB (Wireless connectivity /
Bluetooth)
Contains USB signals (+5 VDC and D+/D-) for combined Wireless connectivity /
Bluetooth dongle.
J17 CSAFE Contains VCardio (+5 VDC), R/L audio input (from MyE device), UART, and Test
Mode Enable signal.
Troubleshooting tips:
• Make sure that all the connectors are properly seated and that there are no pinched cables between any of these
connections.
• In normal operation, a green LED blinks to indicate the K17 processor has power and is communicating with the
i.MX8 processor.
• In Diagnostics, do the LED test to light up all LED's in the keypad, Message Center, and Hill Profile / Speed Zone
boards. Also do the keypad test to test every button on the console’s keypad (plus the speaker).
