GEM3 NFC Board (PCB-006)
Theory of Operation:
The GEM3 NFC board is an off-the-shelf NFC receiver board from North Pole Engineering, Inc. The GEM3 NFC
Module supports BLE, GymKit and NFC. The GEM3 NFC Module implements the NFC antenna on the board. It also
contains a connector to interface to a NFC Tag board.
Functions/Connectors:
1 P2 - Additional I/O Connector Co3.3 VDC power and I2C signals to the NFC Tag Board.
2 NFC reader
3 GEM3
4 P1 - Data Power and I/O Connector Co3.3 VDC power, UART (with RTS and CTS), I2S (for future use), and
reset signals from the Main board.
Troubleshooting tips:
• Make sure that the connectors are properly seated at the GEM3 NFC board and Main board.
• Make sure the cable is not pinched or severed.
• Try a different, known good, cable or PCBA.
