(2)
Divide the permanent expansion by the total expansion and multiply by 100 to calculate
the percent of permanent expansion. If the total permanent volumetric expansion is more
than 10 percent, discard the container.
(3) Too much permanent expansion shows that the container wall is too thin or was in conditions
that changed its dimensions. An increase in the elastic expansion shows a decrease in the
average wall thickness.
(4) Punch the proof date and the Inspection stamp on the lug of the tank Never mark on the part
submit on the pressure

5.
Minimum Wall Thickness Test
A.
Use an ultrasonic test gauge calibrated and measure the thickness of the container wall.
Calibrate the gauge as specified in the manufacturer's operating instructions before you do the
test. Discard containers when the wall thickness is less than the specified wall-thickness
dimension.
TASK 26-20-50-750-804-A01
6. Weight
Check
A.
Procedure to check the weight during a partial overhaul for a full level container.
(1)
Check the empty weight without cartridge and caps.
(2)
Check the full level weight without cartridge and caps.
(3)
After the checks, install the protection caps
WARNING :
PUT ON PROTECTIVE GOGGLES DURING THE WEIGHING. OPERATE
CAREFULLY THE CONTAINER, DO NOT HIT OR FALL DOWN.
(4)
Put the container on the scale. Weigh and record this weight.
(5)
Remove the container from the scale.
(6)
Compare the total filled container weight you got in step (4) to the last "TOTAL WT
(ACTL)" written on the characteristics plate
(7)
If the weights are the same, the container does not leak. If the weights are not the same,
subtract the weight you got in step (4) from the last weight written on the characteristics
plate.
(8)
If the difference is more than the permitted weight loss in DESCRIPTION AND
OPERATION section, Table 1, Specified Data, you must repair the container. Refer to
Table 1002, Fault Isolation for the probable causes and necessary repairs.
(9)
If the weight is satisfactory, remove the date from the "LAST WT INSPECTION" block on
the characteristics plate with alcohol and a lint-free cloth.
(10) Write the date you weighed the container on the characteristics plate . Refer to
ASSEMBLY section.
