Enable any additional settings on the Control tab, and move to
Setting Triggers for Exceedances or Events

6.2.4 Setting Triggers for Exceedances or Events
When the sound level (defined by the time weight and detector you
choose on the SLM page in the Setup Manager) exceeds the preset level,
the meter logs the number of times and the total time the level was
exceeded. These exceedances are reported on the Live Tab Triggering
Page and on the Overall Tab Exceedances Page.
Before you begin:

Step 1
On the 831C, go to
Tools
Setup Manager
, and press the right softkey

Exceedance Triggers
tab appears.

Set the applicable trigger levels.

To save your Setup and exit the Setup Manager, select

In the Save dialog, choose
Yes
to save the changes you’ve made.
Step 3
Press the
Menu
softkey (

) to return to the Setup Manager Page.

Highlight and press ENTER on the name of the custom Setup you created.

In the pop-up menu that appears,
Set to Active
is highlighted.
press
ENTER to select that option. The next measurements will run according
to the Setup you just created.
TAKE NOTE
You can also complete the setup process in G4 LD Utility, which
provides a simple, file transfer-style interface for configuring, saving,
and transferring Setup files to your PC or to another meter. To use the
Setup Manager
in G4, select your meter in the Meters Panel, and click
Setup Manager
