21.  Software Development 

21.1   Overview 

ML610Q471/ML610Q472/ML610Q472 does not have the On-chip Debug function. When developing the 
ML610Q471/ML610Q472/ML610Q473 software, MTP version ML610Q407 reference board is used. Because MTP 
version ML610Q407 has On-chip Debug function and the Mask ROM Version Emulation Funciton. The uEASE 
recognize ML610Q407 as ML610Q471/ML610Q472/ML610Q473 by the Mask ROM Version Emulation Funciton. For 
more details of the Mask ROM Version Emulation Function, see “ML610Q407/ML610Q408/ML610Q409 User’s 
Manual Chapter 25 Mask ROM Version Emulation Function”. 
In this manual MTP version ML610Q407 recognized as ML610Q471/ML610Q472/ML610Q473 is described as   
Development version ML610Q471/ML610Q472/ML610Q473. 
 
 

21.2    Development Version Setting Sequence 

The blank product of MTP version ML610Q407/408/409 starts up in each ML610Q407/408/409 mode in the ex-factory 
condition. When using ML610Q407/408/409 for ML610Q471/472/473 program development, each Development 
version setting must be done by the steps shown below. The steps explain an example of Development version 
ML610Q471 setting on ML610Q407 reference board. 
 

1) Connect ML610Q407 reference board and uEASE

2) Connect uEASE and PC with USB cable. 
3) Boot FWuEASE flash writer host program “FWuEASE Flash Writer” on the Microsoft Windows. 
4) Select “ML610Q407” in the “Target” field. 
5) Assign ML610Q471 Development version setting file named “MODE610Q471.hex”

 in “File Name” field of 

“Flash Memory Write/Verify” group. 

6) Click “Add to List” button and enter it to the file list. 
7) Click “Write & Check” button and write it on the Flash memory. 
8) Click “Exit” button and exit the FWuEASE flash writer host program. 
9) Disconnect uEASE from PC. ML610Q471 mode setting is completed. After re-boot the reference board, uEASE 

recognizes ML601Q407 reference board as ML610Q471. Select “ML610Q471” in the “Select Target” window of 
FWuEASE flash writer host program “FWuEASE Flash Writer”. And Select “ML610471” in the “Target Chip” 
field of DTU8 debugger simulator “DTU8 Debugger”. 

 

(*1)  The uEASE firmware version 1.12 or upper version must be used for ML610Q471/ML610Q472/ML610Q473. Please check 

uEASE firmware version before starting. For the uEASE firmware version, check “Help”->”System Information” menu on 
DTU8. 

(*2)  Development version setting file is prepared for each ML61047x.
