This chapter describes how to send, receive, and
erase text messages from your phone. For
information on voicemail messages, see page 11.
Important:
The features and menus described in
this chapter may vary depending on services
available in your area. In addition, usage charges
may apply to each message. For details, check
with your service provider.
Sending text messages
Enter the recipient's number or search for the
recipient's number in the Contacts directory to
send the message. It can be sent to a group of up
to 30 phone numbers simultaneously. You can
only send text messages to phones that are
capable of receiving them.
Creating a new text message
1.
Select
Menu
→
Messages
→
New Message
→
New SMS
.
Note:
Select the
Information
option for a
description of this feature.
2.
Enter the text message.
Note:
To add prewritten text, select
Options
→
Insert Template
. Press
up or
down to choose your prewritten text and then
press
to add the text to the message.
3.
Once you have completed the message,
press
to
select
Options
.
Select one of the following:
–
Send
to send your message. See step 4.
–
Insert Template
to insert pre-written text in
your message.
–
Save to Drafts
to save the message in your
Drafts folder.
–
Save to Saved
to save the message in your
Saved messages folder.
–
Insrt Sym
to select a symbol from the
symbols list and insert it into the message.
–
Enter Number
to select a phone number in
the Contacts directory and insert it into the
message.
–
Insert Mode
to select a text entry mode for
entering the message. See Chapter 3 on
page 14.
–
Priority
to select normal or urgent priority.
–
Back
to return to the
New Message
menu
without saving.
4.
If you select
Send
, you are taken to the
Receiver
screen to enter your contact’s
phone number.
– Press
to select
Search
. Highlight the
contact’s name and press
. If the
contact has multiple phone numbers, you
also need to select the number you want
and press
.
5.
To add another recipient to this message,
scroll to the next line in the
Receiver
screen
and repeat step 4.
