Outside the Broadband Service Coverage Area
TracNet will provide broadband Internet access within the
broadband service coverage area. But if you approach the
broadband coverage limits, the signal level will gradually
degrade (to view the broadband service coverage maps, refer to
Appendix B on page 63
). If you are outside the broadband coverage
area, try using the narrowband service. This mode uses your
return link (Tracphone system or GPRS modem) for receiving
Internet downloads.
Outside the Return Link Coverage Area
If you are located outside the coverage area for your selected
return link, you will not be able to connect using either
broadband or narrowband service. If you are using a Tracphone
system for the return link, you must be located within the
Inmarsat Fleet service coverage area. If you are using a GPRS
modem for the return link, you must be located within the
coverage area for your chosen GPRS service. If you are using a
Globalstar modem (TracNet 2.0 upgraded system), you must be
located within the Globalstar coverage area.
Security Setting Enabled on Your Computer
If you have a pop-up blocker active on your computer, you will
not be able to view the “Connection Manager” window, which
displays whenever you click the
Connect
button to connect to the
Internet. Pop-ups must be enabled for you to see status messages
of the connection progress on your computer. Your computer’s
security settings may also block access to certain web sites.
