Sending/Receiving E-mail
TracNet can send and receive e-mail using any standard TCP/IP
Internet-based e-mail system. Simply connect to the Internet (see
Section 2.5, “Connecting to the Internet,” on page 16
) and open your
e-mail application.
If you use a POP/SMTP e-mail system, such as Outlook or
Eudora, you may need to change how you send e-mail via the
TracNet service. This is because the ISP or the corporation that
receives your mail may block “foreign” Internet users from using
their mail servers.
(TracNet users are recognized as “foreign” users.)
To overcome this issue, and if you are using Velocity
Acceleration, you may set your “Outgoing Mail Server” to
tnsmtp.kvh.com
.
In addition, some ISPs provide web mail access to their mail
servers. Web mail normally works fine via TracNet. Please
contact your service provider for more information, or contact
KVH Technical Support at +45 45 160 180 (Monday - Friday,
8:00 - 16:30 CET) or via e-mail at
customer
for
assistance.
