Replacing the MDS vane with an X-vane

IMPORTANT

Only one X-vane may be fitted to each left- and right-hand disc.

The right-hand photograph shows an assembled
spreading disc fitted with one main/extension va-
ne (6+7) and one X-vane (12).

1. Remove one main and one extension vane assembly from each spreading disc. (See section 9.3,

points 1 to 3.)

2. Bolt the X-vane (12) onto the spreading disc (as per section 9.3, points 5 to 7).
3. Bolt the leaf spring (4) onto the spreading disc with the X-vane (as per section 9.3, points 8 to 11).

Make sure the correct X-vane/spreading disc combination
is employed (see table).
