WORKING POSITION
BEFORE FOLDING THE MACHINE
INTO WORKING POSITION, MAKE
SURE NOBODY IS IN THE PIVOTING
AREA OF THE HALF-HARROWS.
To change the machine from transport position (ma-
chine folded, photo 18, page 23) into working position
(machine unfolded, photo 16, page 23) proceed as
follows :
- make sure no one is in the maneouvring zone,
- using the tractor’s 3-point lift, clear the machine off
the ground in order to allow the tines to
pass when manoeuvring,
- pressurize the lifting cylinder (V) to unlock the
latches (M) of the two half-harrows (photo 19),
- pull on the cord (F) to release the latches (M)
(photo 19),
- activate the tractor’s hydraulics (V) until the machine
is totally unfolded,
- rest the machine on the ground.
Rigid or floating position
The power harrows can operate in two ways :
Rigid position : the two half-harrows are locked on the
frame and work like a rigid harrow providing a perfect
levelling.
Floating position : the two half-harrows are articulated
on their pivot axis and can float +/- 100 mm at their
outboard sides hence good following of ground con-
tours especially on irregular soils. The machine is
factory set in a rigid position.
To pass to a floating position, proceed as follows :
- remove the roll pin (G) and the front washer (R) (photo
20). The oblong hole vertically oriented will then
appear on the square spacer (C) (photo 21),
- check that the pin (A) isn’t under load (if it is the case,
release the pin by activating the cylinders),
- withdraw the pin (A) of about 15 mm,
- turn the two square spacers (C) at 90° to bring the
oblong hole in a horizontal orientation (photo 22).
- reinstall the pin (A) in the original position and secure
with washer (R) and roll-pin (G) (photo 22).
- proceed in the same way for the other half-harrow.
The machine is then in floating position.
