Maintenance
The overvoltage protection modules can be obtained
from your service partner, specialist shops or the
KOSTAL Solar Electric GmbH online shop. The types
which can be used are listed on the following pages in
the Info block.
If overvoltage protection has been inserted in the
inverter, recurring or disproportionately high overvoltages
may result in accelerated wear and failure of the
overvoltage protection used. The function of the
overvoltage protection used on the AC and DC sides is
therefore monitored by the inverter electronics. The
inverter signals the failure of one or more overvoltage
protection components with a corresponding event
code.
Depending upon the event code, one or more
overvoltage protection modules are affected. Be sure to
always replace all modules affected with new ones as
quickly as possible.
Contact your service partner or specialist shop for
assistance with this. In order to prevent further damage
to the inverter, we recommend decommissioning the
inverter until new overvoltage protection has been
inserted.

The function of the overvoltage
protection modules of the communi-
cation cables cannot be monitored by
the inverter electronics.
Problems in communication with the
inverter indicate failure of the over-
voltage protection modules. If this
happens, the modules should be
checked.
DAMAGE POSSIBLE
Following notification of an event
code indicating defective overvolt-
age protection, the inverter is no
longer protected against external
overvoltage.
Should an error occur, all fitted
overvoltage protection modules
should be replaced with new ones.
