Procedure

Activate tandem mode to run two systems in parallel operation.

1

Switch both systems on.

2

Wait until both systems are ready to copy.

3

Press the [Output Menu] key on the system that you want to run as the
master unit.

The finishing settings are shown.

Press the [Tandem] key.

The background of the key becomes dark. This system is now the
master unit. The other system will now operate as the slave unit.

If the tandem mode cannot be activated

Tandem mode cannot be activated in the following situation:

§

The slave unit has been switched off by the “auto shut off” function.
Switch the slave unit back on using the [Energy Saver] key on the
control panel.

§

An error has occurred on the slave unit, such as a paper misfeed
or paper has run out. Resolve the problem.

§

Ten reserve copy jobs have been set up on the slave unit (not in
tandem mode). Wait until the reserve copy jobs have been
processed.
