Change the filtering element after work, when the engine has cooled down to 40–45°C.
q
In the fuel circuit, the pressure is high when the engine is running.

Upon replacing the filter, wait at least 30 seconds after stopping the engine in order to allow the
internal pressure to descend before replacing the filter.

During these operations some fuel may be spilled; clean the dirty areas immediately, in order to
prevent any risk of slipping or fire.

Oils, filters, the coolant and the battery are considered special waste and must be collected and
disposed of according to the regulations in force.
NOTICE

Komatsu original filter cartridges have a special filter with a high filtering capacity. When a filter
cartridge is replaced, always use Komatsu original components.
q
The common rail injection system of this machine consists of very accurate components with respect
to the conventional pump-injection systems.

If Komatsu original filtering cartridge is not used, dirt and dust can enter the injection system and
cause problems in it. Avoid using non original components.
q
When inspecting or servicing the fuel circuit, pay special attention not let dirt come in. If any
component gets dirty, wash it with fuel.
1. Open the pump compartment door on the right hand side
of the machine.
2. Turn the valve (1) of the pre-filter in closed position (S).
3. Open the engine hood.
4. Place a container under the cartridge to collect the fuel.
5. Using a filter wrench, turn the cartridge (2) anticlockwise to
remove it.
6. Clean the filter-holder, cover the gasket surface with
engine oil, then fit the cartridge on the filter-holder.
