best results, disable all such device events before installing and using VRS.

To disable device events

From the Windows Start menu, select Control Panel | Scanners and Cameras.

Select your scanner from the list of installed devices, and then right-click to
select Properties from the shortcut menu.

From the scanner properties dialog box, select the Events tab and then select a
device event from the list of scanner events.

From the Actions list, select
Take no action.

Repeat steps
3-4
until all unnecessary device events are disabled.
Note
Clear the
Take no action
selection to restore a device event.

Click Apply, and then select OK to close the scanner properties dialog box.

Close the Control Panel.
