Before lowering the attachments to the ground, make sure that the machine and the area
around it are clear of other people. Anyone on or close to the machine
could fall and be crushed by the attachments, or get caught in the linkages.
Operating Environment
Operating in Low Temperatures
In low temperature situations, take the following precautions. They will make for
easier starting and prevent possible damage to your machine.
Use the correct viscosity engine lubricating oil. See Fluids Lubricants and Capacities in
Maintenance section.
Use a low temperature diesel fuel, if available. See Fuel System in Maintenance
section.
Use the correct coolant mixture. See Coolant Mixture in Maintenance section.
Keep the battery at full charge.
Fill the fuel tank at the end of each work period.
Protect the machine when not in use. Park the machine inside a building or
cover it with a tarpaulin.
Install cold weather starting aids.
Remove snow from around the engine cover before starting. Otherwise snow
could get into the air filter
In very low temperatures, say-18°C and below, additional starting aids may be
needed. Examples are fuel, oil and coolant heaters and extra batteries. Ask your
KNEGT Dealer for advice.
Note: Do not connect two batteries in series to give 24 volts for starting. This
could burn out starter motor.
Operating in High Temperatures
In high temperature situations, take the following precautions. They will make for
easier starting and prevent possible damage to your machine.
Use the correct viscosity engine lubricating oil. See Fluids Lubricants and
Capacities in Maintenance section.
Use the correct coolant mixture. See Coolant Mixture in Maintenance section.
Check the coolant system regularly. Keep the coolant at the correct level. Make sure
there are no leaks.
Keep the radiator/oil cooler clean. Regularly remove dirt and debris from
between the radiator /oil cooler and the engine.
Check ventilation grilles. Ensure the ventilation grilles to and from the engine
compartment are not blocked.
Check Battery electrolyte level. See Checking the Electrolyte Level in Maintenance
section.
