Starting the Engine
Exhaust Gases
WARNING
Breathing the machine exhaust gases can harm and possibly kill you. Do
not operate the machine in closed spaces without making sure there is
good ventilation. If possible, fit an exhaust extension. If you begin to feel drowsy, stop
the machine at once and get into fresh air.

Before Starting the Engine
2 Start the Engine
a. Apply the foot brake.

Put the hydraulic position control lever in the down position.
c.
Ensure the main gear lever is in the neutral position.
d.
Depress the clutch pedal to activate the safety-start switch.
e.
Insert the key in the key switch and set the key switch to the ON position BUT
DO NOT START THE ENGINE.
f. Ensure that the warning indicators are illuminate.

. Turn the key inthe key switch to the START position and hold it there until the
engine starts. Release the key when the engine starts. Do not operate the starter for
more than 10 seconds at one time. If the engine does not start, wait for 20 seconds
and then try again.
Note: Outside temperatures below 0°C (32°F) will require extended times to turn engine
after preheating.
After the engine has started, allow it to idle for between 5 and 10 minutes to reach the
correct operating temperature and to ensure full lubrication
Note: DO NOT operate any services. After the warm up period make sure that everyone is
clear of the machine.
Stopping and Parking the Machine
Whenever possible, stop the machine on dry and level ground.
An incorrectly parked machine can move without an operator. Follow the instructions
in the Operator Manual to park the machine correctly.
1. Remove your foot from the foot operated accelerator pedal and depress the clutch
pedal and the brake simultaneously.
2. When the tractor stops, lower any implement to the ground and set the main
gear lever to the neutral position.
3. Apply the park brake.
4. Idle the engine for approximately 2 minutes.
5. Turn the key in the key switch to the OFF position.
6. Remove the key. Ensure the waterproof cover is fitted to the key switch.
7. When parking on an incline, be sure to block the wheels on the downhill side to
prevent the machine from rolling.
