Piping

Installation

Water-Cooled Direct-Expansion, Water-Cooled DualCool, and FreeCool

Units are shipped with refrigerant. Note the amount from the unit name-
plate.

Some applications may require that the relief-valve outlet be

routed outdoors. In this case:

Locate the refrigerant receiver inside the air-handler unit. The relief

valve is on top of the receiver.

Attach a suitably-sized tube to the relief-valve outlet, taking care not to

damage the relief valve. Use mechanical connectors only, do not sweat
or braze.

Route the tube through a cabinet knockout near the water or

glycol tubes, and to a suitable point of release.

Release the liquid-line solenoid valve from the locked-open

position by turning the manual stem counter-clockwise all the
way.

Replace and tighten the stem cap.
