Connection Diagrams

Total Jitter Calibration

Purpose and Method

This procedure calibrates the Total Jitter (TJ).

For this purpose, the EZJIT+ application running on a real-time scope is

used. The test automation starts by applying small SJ FIXED amplitudes

and increases the amplitude levels. All other jitter components (SSC,

SJSWEET, RJ, ISI, CMI) are set to their compliance values according to the

specifications.

For every set SJ value, the corresponding Total Jitter amplitude is

measured. To pass the calibration, the measured TJ should be within the

target range.

This calibration is only available for HBR3 data rate, for TP2 and TP3; and

for Lane0. Repeat this calibration for different SJ SWEET frequencies:

500KHz, 1MHz, 2MHz, 10MHz, 20MHz and 100MHz.
