Wire Size Guide for the Catalina 340c 12 Volt:
8 Gauge (10mm²) up to 15 feet (4.5M)
6 Gauge (16mm²) up to 20 feet (7.6M)
4 Gauge (25mm²) up to 35 feet (14M)
Wire Size Guide for the Catalina 340c 24 Volt:
8 Gauge (10mm²) up to 30 feet (10.6M)
6 Gauge (16mm²) up to 45 feet (14M)
Note: If the specified circuit breaker sizes are unavailable, use the next higher rating but do
not exceed the specification by more then 10%. All wiring to be done to applicable ABYC,
Marine UL, or CE standards.
Distances at left represent the total
ROUND TRIP wire length (DC positive
length plus DC negative length), NOT
the length of the pair of wires
together. Size cables accordingly.
Mount the main power terminal block in a junction box or on a bulkhead adjacent to the feed
pump module. Make sure that this is a dry location well above bilge level and not subject to
water spray.
Be sure to install the terminal block cover.
Check the wire size chart for appropriate wire sizes. DC power feeds should be uninterruptible
to insure proper operation of the auto store feature. Avoid house breaker panels that could be
accidentally tripped.
Component Sizing:
•
12 - Volt: Use a 30 Amp breaker and size the wiring for 25 Amperes.
•
24 - Volt: Use a 15 Amp breaker and size the wire for 13 Amperes.
•
Provide circuit protection at the source! Undersized wiring will
reduce system performance.
Connect the yellow boost pump connector from the bottom of the feed pump housing to
the corresponding connector routed from the boost pump.
