5. 5 Responsibility
KARL STORZ SE & Co. KG shall be liable for failure or deterioration in the safe operation, operational
reliability, and performance of this system only subject to the following conditions:
• all assembly operations, system expansions, readjustments, modifications, or repairs have been
performed by a person or persons duly authorized by KARL STORZ,
• all electrical installations in the room in which the system is installed and operated meet the
applicable laws and standards, and
• the devices have been used in accordance with their instruction manuals at all times.
5. 6 Warranty
For a period of two years from delivery to the end user, we shall replace equipment that can be
proven to have defects in material or workmanship free of charge. In so doing, we cannot bear the
cost of transportation or the risks associated with shipment. The warranty referred to in our Standard
Conditions of Business shall apply.
Opening the equipment or performance of any repairs or modifications to the components of the
device by unauthorized persons shall relieve us of any liability for its performance. Any such repair or
modification performed during the warranty period shall void all warranty.
