TROUBLE-SHOOTING GUIDE FOR ELECTRIC EQUIPMENT
Trouble Probable cause Remedy
Storage batteries are discharged. Alternator drive belts are slackened. Adjust the belt tension. Address the
service center.
Alternator operates with increased
noise. Pulley fastening is loosened. Tighten up the pulley.
Starter fails to operate (headlamps are
not dimmed with starter engagement). Break or absence of contact in starter
power supply circuit.
Storage battery is discharged. Restore the contact.
Charge/ replace the battery.
Address the service center.
Crankshaft is not rotated by starter
(traction relay comes to operation). Poor contact between starter body and
truck frame. Ensure good contact.
Address the service center.
Motor oil used does not correspond to
season in cold. Change the motor oil.
Bulb does not glow. Shaking (braking of filament as a result
of external influence) or filament failure. Change the bulb.
Break in power supply circuit:
- fuse has come into action;
- no contact in plug-and-socket connec-
tions. To eliminate short-circuit:
- change the fuses;
- restore the contact.
Address the service center.
When turned on, horn emits no sound. Break of conductor.
No contact in power circuit.
Fuses are blown or circuit breakers come
into action due to short-circuit in power
supply. Eliminate the break.
Restore the contact.
Eliminate the short-circuit.
Address the service center.
