DISPOSING
MAINTENANCE CUTTING BLOCK:
(cross-cut)
After approximately 15 minutes of con-
tinuous use, run the cutting system in
reverse for 15 to 20 seconds and spray
some of the enclosed Special Oil onto the
cutting system.
AUTOMATIC ENERGY SAVING:
If the machine is not used for a while it
automatically switches off after about 5 minutes.
The pilot lamp (4) for “Ready” goes off. Press the
pushbutton switch (1) briefly to turn it on again.
CLEANING THE PHOTOCELLS (fig. 4):
If paper particles should come to rest in the inlet
guide (for example after a paper jam) it is possi-
ble that the machine will not turn off, due to the
broken light barrier.
To remove these paper strips and also to clean
the photocell, pass another sheet of paper through
the feed slot, or switch the machine to reverse and
wipe both „eyes“ of the photocell with a brush.
PAPER JAM:
If too much paper is fed to the cutting system the
machine will react as follows:
- The cutting system blocks, reverses a bit to
release the paper and then stops.
- The motor shuts down automatically.
- The pilot lamp (6) (fig. 1) lights up.
Proceed as follows:
-
Continuously
press pushbutton switch
“Backward operation” / “Stop” (3) while
simultaneously removing from the machine
any documents that were being fed in.
- After removal, the cutting mechanism
automatically runs forwards, shreds any
remnants remaining in the inlet slot and then
switches off. The pilot lamp (6) (fig. 1) goes
out.
Note:
If removal is not possible, then briefly
press the pushbutton switch “Backward
operation” / “Stop” (3) again. The cutting
mechanism now automatically repeats the
process as described above until the paper
remaining in the cutting mechanism has run
through.
- Remove excess paper from the machine and
continue shredding with less paper.
MOTOR PROTECTION:
The motor shuts down automatically, should it
become overloaded. Turn the machine off with
the pushbutton switch (1) (fig. 1).
Allow the motor to cool down for 15 to 20 minutes
(depending upon room temperature) and then
continue shredding.
CHECKLIST IN CASE OF MALFUNCTIONS:
If the device does not function, check the fol-
lowing:
- Is the
plug connected
to the mains?
Mains connection: 2-pole mains switch,
internal appliance plug,
separate power cord
- Is the
pushbutton switch (1)
on?
- Is the
door
closed?
- Is the
receptacle
full?
The receptacle has to be emptied.
- Is there a
paper jam
?
Follow the instructions under „paper jam“.
- has the
motor
been overloaded?
Wait until the motor has cooled, and then re-
start.
If none of the above applies, please contact
your dealer.

DISPOSING OF THE MACHINE:
Dispose of the machine in an
environmentally sound fashion at the end
of its useful service life. Do not dispose of
any of the parts included in the machine
or its packaging with household trash.
OPERATION
EMPTYING THE COLLECTING BAG (fig. 3):
Once the collecting bag is full, the machine
switches off. The pilot lamp „Container full“ /
„Door open“ (5) (fig. 1)
flashes
. To show that the
cutting mechanism has stopped, the pilot lamp
“Paper jam” / “Stop” (6) lights up.
Empty the collecting bag as follows:
- Open the door and take out the sliding frame
with the collecting bag.
- Remove the rubber band, take out the full bag
and dispose of contents.
- Put the empty bag from below through the sliding
frame and put the edges of the bag approx. 10
cm over the frame outwardly.
- Move back the sliding frame with the collecting
bag and close door. The pilot lamp (5) (fig. 1)
goes off.
- Briefly press the pushbutton switch „Backward
operation“ / „Stop“ (3). The cutting mechanism
shreds what remains in the feed shaft and then
switches off. The pilot lamp (6) goes out. You
can now continue shredding.
Note:
The machine will only run with closed
door!
