To adjust to a good position, please proceed as follows:
Loosen the clamp lever on the arm rests and the
screws on the rear side of the upper arm support
Then bring the arm rests into the desired L-shaped
position by pushing up or pressing down
Now hold the desired position with one hand and
simultaneously retighten the clamp lever of the
arm rest
Tighten all the screws on the upper arm support
again
Proceed in the same manner on the other side
Lower arm restraint
Lower arm restraints are combined with arm rests
The arm rests can be adjusted individually in height and
inclination, so that the lower arm of the patient can be
placed on them and secured with straps Restraining
of the arms lends greater stability to entire upper body
There is also the possibility of a lower arm restraint
with expander In this variant, an expanding rubber is
mounted underneath the arm rest and restricts the
patient's radius of arm motion A lower arm restraint
with expander is mainly used for the patient's own pro-
tection and to avoid injuries to the arms Mainly for
patients who strike out or grab uncontrolled with their
arms and can thus knock over objects and injure them-
selves in the process Arm restraints can also be used
to provide better stability and guidance for operating
a control unit on electric wheelchairs To apply the the
lower arm restraint, proceed as follows:
Lower arm restraints with expander rubber: open
the Velcro fleece connection on the lower arm re-
straint and place this around the lower arm of the
patient and then close again IMPORTANT! Do not
exercise too much force on the patient's lower arm
Lower arm restraints without expander rubber:
open the Velcro fleece connection and place the
patient's arm comfortably on the arm rest, then
close the lower arm restraint around the patient's
lower arms and the arm rest
Important!
Do not exercise too much force on the
patient's lower arm
Important!
Ensure that the arm restraint is not too
tight Risk of pressure areas
Hand cuff restraints
Hand cuff restraints provide for direct restraint of the
hands They can be wrapped around the hands in order
to prevent patients from injuring themselves with the
fingers
Important!
Ensure that the arm restraint is not too
tight Risk of pressure areas
Therapy tray table
Various shapes and materials were taken into consid-
eration in the selection of the therapy tray table All
variants used can be fastened differently, nonetheless
the AKTIVLINE
®
has already been fitted with a mount-
ing ex-works and this only needs to be adjusted to meet
the patient's needs
Variant with slipon mechanism
The holders on the therapy tray table, two tubes on the
right and left of the table tray, as well as the recepta-
cles for these tubes which are mounted under the arm
rests, are already pre-fitted on delivery To apply the
therapy tray table, proceed as follows:
Insert the therapy tray table and the two tubes fit-
ted to the therapy tray table resp into the intended
receptacles under the arm rests
Make sure that the therapy tray table is not pushed
too close to the patient Leave the patient suffi-
cient space in the stomach region to avoid sitting
trapped during stretching
You can adjust the height of the table via the arm
rests
Mount the table in the correct position by turning
the wing screws on the mountings under the arm
rests clockwise
Repeat these steps in reverse order to detach the
therapy tray table Loosen the wing screws by
turning counterclockwise and pull the therapy tray
table from the holder away from the patient
Variant with swingaway unit
To attach the therapy tray table, proceed as follows:
There is a receiving tube under the table Insert
this in the intended holder under the arm rest
Make sure that the therapy tray table is not pushed
too close to the patient Leave the patient suffi-
cient space in the stomach region to avoid sitting
trapped during stretching
You can adjust the height of the table via the arm
rests
Mount the table in the correct position by turning
the wing screw on the mounting under the arm
rest clockwise
Repeat these steps in reverse order to detach the
therapy tray table Loosen the wing screw by turn-
ing counterclockwise and pull the therapy tray
table from the holder away from the patient
Once you have adjusted the therapy tray table into
the correct position, you no longer need to remove
it from the holder for transfers and the like
In the variant with swing-away unit, simply fold
the table tray to the side Always pay attention to
the patient Should the radius for swiveling not be
sufficient, loosen the wing screw and pull the table
tray slight forwards to increase the radius
Variant with dynamic comotion,
with Velcro fleece connection and strap:
In the variant with dynamic co-motion, a Velcro fleece
connection is fitted to the underside of the therapy tray
table and the arm rests
Simply place the therapy tray table in its correct
position on the arm rests and press gently
Now close the strap which is fitted to the sides of
the therapy table tray by pressing the strap ends
of the therapy tray table onto the strap ends of the
receptacle mounted to the back
Adjust the correct height of the therapy tray table
via the arm rests
Repeat these steps in reverse order to detach the
therapy tray table, release the straps and simply
pull the table tray from the arm rests in your di-
rection
