ASSEMBLY / ADJUSTMENT / OPERATION
To adjust the inclination angle of the push bar, proceed
as follows:
Loosen the two clamp levers located in front of the
pivot point for the push bar folding mechanism by
turning them counterclockwise
Apply (axial) pressure to the clamp lever and press
the coach bolts out of the guide on the ratcheting
element until it is possible to freely adjust the incli-
nation adjustment angle
Move the push bar into the desired position
Important!
Apply pressure to the rounded head in
order to press the square head of the
screw into the ratcheting element at the required
inclination angle
Check that the carriage bolt is correctly seated in
the ratcheting element
Secure the unit in this position by turning both
clamp levers clockwise to tighten them It is also
possible to maintain the inclination angle of the
back unit, including the push bar unit, when the
push bar is folded down (eg during transport)
Trapezoid-shaped adapter receptacle and adapter
The seat shell is mounted to the undercarriage by
means of an adapter system This system consists
of a trapezoidal adapter, which is mounted to the un-
derside of the shell, and a trapezoid-shaped adapter
receptacle which is connected to the undercarriage
The adapter is securely locked using two spring-loaded
catch mechanisms which snap into the adapter bracket
from underneath Always check to ensure that both
spring-loaded catch mechanisms are securely locked
on the adapter system
If you should discover that the spring-loaded catch
mechanisms have become loose, then these should
be re-tightened using an appropriate tool until the shell
is securely positioned on the undercarriage
Tilt-in-space mechanism via two gas-pressure
springs
SIMPLY and SIMPLY LIGHT are equipped with a gas-
pressure spring adjustment for the inclination/tilting
of the seat shell
To adjust the tilt of the seat, proceed as follows:
Activate the parking brakes
In case of only one release lever: pull the gas-
pressure spring release lever mounted to the right
of the push bar frame
In case of two release levers: pull both the gas-
pressure spring release levers mounted to the
right and left of the push bar frame simultane-
ously
Adjust the inclination angle of the seat shell by
pulling the push bar up or pressing it down while
pulling the release lever for both gas-pressure
springs
Let go of the release lever to lock the seat shell
into the adjusted inclination position
Deactivate the parking brake, as appropriate
Important!
Never pull the release lever without a
firm grip on the push bar if a patient is
seated in the wheelchair Prior to inclination of the
seat shell, ensure that both anti-tipping wheels
always face in direction of the driving surface
In a further undercarriage variant, the tilt of the
seat shell is adjusted with a telescopic unit First
the mounting of the unit is loosened and the tele-
scopic tube moved either upwards or downwards,
depending on how the tilt is to be adjusted Then
the unit is refastened
