MEQ-2000 24/96 Multimode Equalizer
The DIO submenu provides for detailed setup of the digital output, and the digital input
synchronization, whether they are active or not.
Five parameters may be selected for digital output:
DO MODE selects digital output format: professional ( AES/EBU or AES-3 ) or consumer
( S/PDIF ).
DO FS selects the output sampling frequency. Available frequencies are 32, 64,
88.1 and 96 kHz , as well as FSIN1 and FSIN2 .
The FSIN modes pass the sampling frequency of the digital input to the
digital output. In the FSIN1 mode ( THRU ), the system checks the input
sampling rate to see if it is close to 96kHz; if so, the internal sample rate
converters are switched off to allow for the highest possible processing
quality. The FSIN2 mode ( SYNC ) is recommended for synchronizing the
MEQ-2000 to a studio master clock or digital mixing console.
DO WL selects from word lengths of 24, 20 and 16 bit. Normally it is recommended
that you leave this at 24-bit, unless you need to output to a specific source
such as 16-bit CD; in this case dithering can be enabled in the DITHER
field.
DITHER switches the dithering function on or off at the output sampling rate
converter.
DI SELECT selects dithering word lengths of 24, 20 or 16 bits.
After every change,
ENTER appears at the F5 key, and must be pressed to confirm the
change.
Note that any configuration change causes the MEQ-2000 to reconfigure the module
chain. Therefore after pressing ENTER to confirm a change, the system will mute all
outputs for a few seconds while reconfiguring.
Default values are: PROF (AES-3), 48kHz, 24-bit, ON, D-XLR.
