7: Additional Accessories
The SC is designed to allow easy and seamless integration with external
devices and accessories to provide a comprehensive solution. These
include control systems and additional sensors.
7.1 Using the IntelliV iew Joystick
An IntelliView joystick (Fig. 97) can be connected to the SC to control PTZ
cameras in several ways.
Front buttons: to save and recall presets
Joystick movement: to control camera position. The degree of movement of
the handle also controls speed of camera movement; the farther you move
the handle from the center, the faster the camera will rotate.
• Move the joystick left or right to rotate (pan) the camera.
• Move the joystick forward or back to tilt the camera up and down.
• Rotate the joystick handle clockwise or counterclockwise for zoom
control.
Button at the top of the handle: can be used to disengage camera
movement controls in order to switch between PTZ cameras, using the
handle as a mouse. To re-engage movement controls, press the top button
again.
To activate the joystick, check the Enable Joystick option (Fig. 98) from the
Options menu (upper left corner of the SC’s interface).
