– SFU should be used when the operating system domain to be joined is a
Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 with SP1 system.
If you choose Schema Extension, continue to step 11.
9. Click Next. The RID Configuration window is displayed.
10. Use the RID Configuration window to set the range mapping and the trusted
domains:
a. Enter the User ID range in the from: and to: fields.
Note: The value in the from field must be smaller than the value in the to
field.
b. Click Add in the Trusted domains pane to define and add domains and
the respective ID range. Click Ok to add the domain to the list.
Conversely, to remove domains, select the domain from the list and click
Remove
.

Click Next. The Schema Config window is displayed.
12. Use the Schema Config window to set the range mapping and the desired
schema:
a. Enter the User ID range in the from: and to: fields.
Note: The value in the from field must be smaller than the value in the to
field.
b. In the Schema config pane, select either RFC2307 (meaning that your
network's password and NIS attributes can be resolved by the LDAP) or
SFU (achieves Active Directory integration with Linux and UNIX systems)
as the desired schema.
13. Click Next to preview the Summary report. The parameters defined for the
set authentication are displayed.
14. Click Finish to submit the settings to the server.
What to do next
Setting the authentication is now complete. If you have users defined in the Active
Directory, go on to “Creating a CIFS share on ProtecTIER” on page 82.
User's management for CIFS workgroups
Use the Users Management for Workgroups window to configure and manage
users in a CIFS workgroup.
About this task
From the Users Management for Workgroups window, you can:
v Add users
v Change user passwords
v Change user IDs
v Activate or deactivate user access to shared paths
Procedure

In the Systems Management view, select CIFS > Authentication > Users
management
from the menu bar. The Users Management for Workgroups
window is displayed.
