1. From the root prompt command line of the host server, type:
umount <NFS server address>:/<exportName>
where
<NFS server address>
is the IP of the FSI port on the ProtecTIER side
and
/<exportName>
is the directory path of the NFS export.
2. Press Enter.
3. From the Systems Management view of ProtecTIER Manager, select an existing
file system under the File System category in the navigation pane.
4. On the NFS tab, click on the defined NFS export you want to delete from the
NFS Exports
list.
5. Click Delete NFS export at the bottom of the NFS Export window.
Note: Alternatively, select Delete NFS export from the NFS menu.
A message is displayed that the NFS export will be removed, but the path
contents will remain intact.
6.
Click Yes to confirm deleting the NFS export. The NFS export is removed.
Mounting an NFS file system on a host
This topic describes how to mount NFS exports by using the mount command.
Before you begin
When mounting an NFS file system on your system, use the same mount point
options used when certifying the device.
About this task
The mount command instructs the operating system to make a file system
available for use at a specified location (or, the mount point). In addition, you can
use the mount command to build other file trees made up of directory and file
mounts. The
mount
command mounts a file system expressed as a device by using
the device or
node:directory
parameter on the directory specified by the directory
parameter. After the mount command is finished, the directory specified becomes
the root directory of the newly mounted directories.
Example
mount -t type -o command line options <NFS server address>:
<exportName> <local directory path>
where
v
type
is the file system type (for example, NFS)
v command line options is a string of comma-separated options that follow the -o
flag
v
<NFS server address>
is the IP address or name of the NFS server
v <exportName> is the name or path of the NFS export
Note: A forward-slash (/) before the <exportName> indicates the directory path
of the NFS export, while no slash indicates the name of the NFS export.
v <local directory path> is the mount point, or the directory (typically an empty
one) in the currently accessible file system on which an export is mounted (that
is, logically attached)
