the Help screen, select the menu item, and then press F1.)
4. When you have finished viewing and changing settings, press Esc to
return to the Configuration/Setup Utility program menu.
5. Before you exit from the program, select Save Settings. When you
exit from the Configuration/Setup Utility program menu, your operating
system will start automatically (unless there is an unresolved problem
with the startup device).
Important
If you did
not change any settings in the Configuration/Setup Utility
program, note the following:

If you exit from the Configuration/Setup Utility program without
selecting Save Settings, the computer will attempt to start the
operating system, but might fail because of the unresolved
problem. When the computer restarts, you will get a POST error
message, and then the Configuration/Setup Utility program will
again start automatically.
Ÿ
If you select Save Settings, and then exit the Configuration/Setup
Utility program, your computer will save all settings as they
appeared in the Configuration/Setup Utility program and your
operating system will start (unless there is an unresolved problem
with the startup device).
To exit from the Configuration/Setup Utility program, press Esc and follow
the instructions on the screen.

what action to take, refer to the POST error list.
Power-on self-test (POST)
Each time you turn on your computer, it performs the power-on self-test
(POST), a series of tests that check the basic operation of the base
computer.
POST modes of operation
POST has two modes of operation:
Ÿ
Quick mode: The quick mode runs an abbreviated set of tests. This is
the default mode of operation.
Ÿ
Enhanced mode: The enhanced mode runs an extended set of tests,
which take longer to complete. During the tests, you see memory being
counted at the top left corner of the screen.
