maintain a secure footing.

2.   Make sure that all safety components are mounted.
3.   Turn the engine off  before adjusting working depth of bla-

des.

4.   When using the Verticut without grass catcher, the chute

door must be closed in order to protect the operator from
fl ying debris.

5.   NEVER remove the chute door, which is designed for your

protection. If damaged, replace it before using the machi-

6.   When using the machine with grass catcher, turn off  the

engine removing the bag to empty it.

tension wire from spark plug. Keep the high tension wire
away from the spark plug in order to avoid accidental star-

2.   Frequently check that all nuts, screws and bolts are cor-

rectly tightened.

3.   Always check the blades before using the machine. If you

fi nd signs of wear or damage, have them checked by your
authorised IBEA dealer.

- A badly damaged or cracked blade must be replaced im-
mediately as it is dangerous.

- The use of your Verticut with even one blade missing can
seriously damage the machine.

4.   Always empty the fuel tank if you have to tilt the machine

during maintenance.

5.   To reduce potential fi re hazards, make sure the machine is

free of excessive grass, leaves oil, etc.

6.   After striking a foreign object or if the machine vibrates

abnormally, stop engine and remove wire from spark plug.
When all moving parts have stopped, check for damage
and make any necessary repairs before using the machine
again.

7.   The grass bag must always be in good condition ; therefore

check it before use to assure the bag is not torn or worn.
Replace a defective grass bag.

8.   DO NOT try and regulate the rpm of the engine yourself.

If necessary, have the engine adjusted by your authorised
IBEA dealer.

9.   Allow engine to cool before storing the machine in an en-

closed space such as a garage or storage shed. Do not store
the mower where there is the possibility of fl ames or sparks
setting alight any residual fuel tank.

10. At the time of manufacture your Verticut conformed to

safety standards. To ensure optimum performance and
continued safety, use only original IBEA replacement parts.
