Moreover, each device can be addressed with a name in the network.
Hostname:
DP_xxxxxx
xxxxxx corresponds to the 6-digit serial number of the device (see type label), example:
DP_000007.
For compatibility mode 32Mbit, the device disposes of a second alternative hostname:
dpms_
nnnn
nnnn
corresponds to the last four characters/digits of the MAC address.
Example: The device with the MAC address 0015BA000101 has the name
dpms_0101.
With the initial setup of the device, please select an IP address that is fitting for the ex-
isting network. You can enter the IP address via the web interface (see chapter 9.3.3).
Here, you can also select whether DHCP (dynamic allocation of IP address) is to be used
or a fixed IP address.
Important note
The factory setting for the Ethernet interface of ibaBM-DP is the fixed IP address
192.168.1.1
. When resetting to the factory settings (see chapter 7.3.3), this IP address
will be recovered.
For establishing a network connection via the Ethernet interface (X22), please proceed
as follows:
1.
Connect the PC and the device using a network cable, either directly or via a switch
or hub. PC and device must belong to the same network.
2.
Set the network interface of the computer via „Control panel – Network connections“
(Windows XP) or „Control panel – Network and Sharing Center – Change adapter
settings” (Windows 7) to the same subnet address 255.255.255.0 as the device and
assign an appropriate IP address, e. g. 192.168.1.2.
Note
The IP address of your computer must not be 192.168.1.1, as this is the address of
ibaBM-DP. Select another IP address in the format 192.168.1.x.

Start a web browser on the computer and enter the IP address of the device as URL:
