ICMPv6 Ping Parameters:

Items

Description

IP Address

To set the IPv6 Address of the target device to be sent a Ping.

Ping Length

The payload size of the ICMP packet. Values range from 2 bytes to 1452 bytes.

Ping Count

The count of the ICMP packet. Values range from 1 time to 60 times.

Ping Interval

The interval of the ICMP packet. Values range from 0 seconds to 30 seconds.

Egress Interface

The VLAN ID (VID) of the specific egress IPv6 interface of the ICMP packet target. The given VID
ranges from 1 to 4094 and will be effective only when the corresponding IPv6 interface is valid.
When the egress interface is not given Ping6 finds the best match interface for destination.
Specify egress interface for link-local or multicast addresses. Do not specify egress interface for
loopback addresses.

Start

Click the Start button then the switch will begin to ping the device using ICMP packet size as
set above. The switch will transmit the number of packets as set above in the Ping Count field,
and the sequence number and roundtrip times are displayed upon reception of a replay from the
target device. The page refreshes automatically until responses to all transmitted packets are
received or until a timeout occurs.

Cable Diagnostics

This section is used for running the Cable Diagnostics. Press to run the diagnostics. This will take approximately 5 seconds.
If all ports are selected, this can take approximately 15 seconds. When completed, the page refreshes automatically, and
displays the cable diagnostics results in the cable status table. Note that test is only accurate for cables of length 7-140
meters. 10 and 100 Mbps ports will be linked down while running. Therefore, running the diagnostics on a 10 or 100 Mbps
management port will cause the switch to stop responding until it is complete.
To Configure a Cable Diagnostics test in the web interface:



Click Diagnostics / Cable Diagnostics



Select the port or Ports to be checked.



Click Start to initiate the test.
