5.4 Mechanical connections
For the electrospindle dimensions, refer to the drawings.
Make a note of the serial number of the electrospindle (see paragraph 3.4 “General
overview and main parts” ) before installing the product on the machine. Keep the serial
number in a safe and easily accessible location. It is needed when requesting technical
assistance or ordering spare parts.
Before fastening the electrospindle, contemplate the positioning technical features described
below.
5.4.1 Receiving structure
The load-bearing structure on which the product is to be mounted must be sufficiently rigid to
support the weight and type of machining to be carried out.
The coupling surfaces must be machined with tools and have a surface
finishing of Ra

1.6 µm.
The structure on which the electrospindle is to be mounted must be level
to within 0.02 mm.
For the electrospindles with users on the support panel, the surface of the receiving structure must
be set up with sealed bores for the compressed air and the coolant fluids, in correspondence with
the electrospindle users (fluid distributor table).
The interface surface connecting the compressed air and coolant fluid circuits to the
electrospindle must be created so as to prevent leakage and contamination between
the various pipes.
5.4.2 Fitting the electrospindle
Depending on the version (see chapter 3.4 “General overview and main parts” ), the electrospindle
must be fixed to the slide or the spindle-holder support, using brackets (versions with fixing
grooves) or screws (versions with threaded fixing bores) or screws and nuts (versions with through
fixing bores).
Use screws of resistance class 8.8 or higher. For the tightening torque, refer to the class used and
the manufacturer's indications.
The screws must be tightened with a torque wrench.
The torque value is very important.
