Enabling automatic negotiation for speed downgrading
Perform this task to enable interfaces at two ends of a link to automatically negotiate about
downgrading their speed when the following conditions exist:
•
The interfaces automatically negotiate a speed of 1000 Mbps.
•
The interfaces cannot operate at 1000 Mbps because of link restrictions.
This command is applicable only to GE interfaces.

Configuring storm suppression
You can use the storm suppression feature to limit the size of a particular type of traffic (broadcast,
multicast, or unknown unicast traffic) on an interface. When the broadcast, multicast, or unknown
unicast traffic on the interface exceeds this threshold, the system discards packets until the traffic
drops below this threshold.
