Repeat this section for each HC380 node in the configuration.
Troubleshoot IPv6 connectivity to VMware ESXi on each HC380 node
If you are not able to ping the Link-Local IPv6 Address of a VMware ESXi node, perform the following
steps.
1.
IPv6 should be enabled by from the Factory on the ESXi node. If you do not see the IPv6 IP
address on the log-in screen, then the node is not in a factory state then a recovery procedure should
be run on the node.
2.
Ensure your HC380 Nodes and their iLO are on the same Layer 2 and Layer 3 management
network/VLAN. It is not supported to have them on separate Layer 2 or Layer 3 configurations.
3.
Ensure IPv6 is enabled on your network.
a.
IPv6 is enabled by default on a Comware based device, however it can be disabled via ACLs. To
help eliminate a Comware based switch being used by the HC380 as the source of blocking, you
can try the following if you have access to the network switch.
i.
Log into the Comware based switch and enter system view. Execute the following command
to enable IPv6 on your management vlan-interface.
[HPE] interface Vlan-interface <<mgmt_net_vlan>>
[HPE-Vlan-interface] ipv6 address auto link-local
[HPE-Vlan-interface] quit
ii.
Ping the link-level IPv6 Address of the ESXi node (<<esxi_ipv6_address>>)
[HPE] ping ipv6 -i Vlan-interface <<mgmt_net_vlan>>
<<esxi_ipv6_address>>)
