Use the same pro cedure to install from the installation media that con tain the C Language
Library (option 032, 033, or 034).
Note
When y ou install the HP 4062UX/F system softw are in to a cluster
en vironmen t, the HP-UX up date pro cedure automatically c hec ks to see if the
system is clustered. If the up date pro cedure nds the system is on an HP-UX
cluster, up date creates the necessary Con text Dep enden t Files (CDFs) and
directories for all cno des.
4. Change the msgtql parameter v alue in the dle b y using SAM(1M) utility .
If y our con troller is a series 300 computer, skip this step.
If y our system is congured in a diskless cluster en vironmen t, y ou m ust p erform this step
for eac h diskless cno de and serv er.
The only k ernel parameter for whic h the default v alue is not sucien t is msgtql . The
recommended v alue for msgtql is 256. F or details of eac h k ernel parameter v alue and
parameter setup pro cedure, see Instal ling and Maintaining HP BASIC/UX .
T o c hange the msgtql parameter v alue, use the follo wing pro cedures:
1. Login as a sup eruser and execute the command: sam.

6. Change the default v alue(40) to recommended v alue(256) in the b o x pro vided. Y our
c hange is conrmed in the Pending Value column after y ou select

5. Edit the /usr/pil/etc/hwconfig.cf le appropriate for y our HP-IB in terface
conguration.
If y our con troller is a series 300 computer, skip this step.
