Remo ving System Instruments
T o remov e or extend a system instrumen t from the cabinet, remov e the screws from the rac k
anges of that instrumen t.
The HP 4142B, HP 4280A, HP 4284A, or HP 8110As are moun ted on instrumen t supp ort
rails. These instrumen ts can b e extended or remov ed from the cabinet for servicing or for
standalone use.
The HP 4084B SW C is moun ted on standard slides. The HP 4084B SW C, therefore, cannot
b e extended from the cabinet, but can easily b e remov ed from the cabinet.
System instrumen ts should b e remov ed from the system cabinet b y trained service p ersonnel
only .
HP 4142B's plug-in mo dules can also b e easily remov ed. T o do so, lo osen the screws
in the low er left and right corners of the fron t panel, gen tly remov e the fron t panel, and
disconnect the at cable from the mainframe mo dule connector. T urn the upp er and low er
quic k-disconnect screws of the desired mo dule 90 to unlo c k the mo dule. Gen tly pull the
mo dule free from its mainframe connector and remov e the mo dule. Figure 4-28 sho ws a
plug-in mo dule extended from the HP 4142B.
