If telnet is used to start the X clien ts on the X stations:
1. Execute the follo wing commands to set the en vironmen t v ariable DISPLA Y:
F or Bourne shell (sh) or Korn shell (ksh):
$ DISPLAY= hostname :0
$ export DISPLAY
F or C shell (csh):
% setenv DISPLAY hostname:0
Note that the hostname is the host name of y our X stations.
2. Cop y a template le for starting up the X T erminal as follo ws:
$ cd
$ mkdir bin
$ cp /usr/lib/X11/700X/examples/x11start.700x bin/x11start.700x
3. Change the p ermission of x11start.700x le as follows:
$ chmod u+rwx bin/x11start.700x
4. Mo dify the x11start.700x le for y our en vironmen t. Y ou can use VI(1) editor to mo dify
this le.
a. Add one of the follo wing command lines for y our X T erminal:
F or color CR T:
### For Color CRT
/usr/bin/X11/xinitcolormap -c 16 /etc/newconfig/rmb/xrmbcolormap
F or gray scale CR T:
### For Gray Scale CRT
/usr/bin/X11/xinitcolormap -c 16 /etc/newconfig/rmb/xrmbgraymap
F or color CR T with BASIC Plus (greater than 4 planes)
### For Color CRT with BASIC Plus (greater than 4 planes)
/usr/bin/X11/xinitcolormap -f /usr/lib/rmb/PLUS/bplus_colormap
F or color CR T with BASIC Plus (4 planes)
### For Color CRT with BASIC Plus (4 planes)
/usr/bin/X11/xinitcolormap -f /usr/lib/rmb/PLUS/bplus_cmap.4
