New editions are complete revisions of the man ual. Up date pac k ages, whic h are issued
b et w een editions, con tain additional and replacemen t pages to b e merged in to the man ual b y
the customer. The dates on the title page c hange only when a new edition is published. No
information is incorp orated in to a reprin ting unless it app ears as a prior up date; the edition
do es not c hange when an up date is incorp orated.
The softw are revision co de prin ted b efore the date indicates the v ersion lev el of the soft w are
pro duct at the time the man ual or up date w as issued. Many pro duct up dates and xes
do not require man ual c hanges and, con v ersely , man ual corrections may b e done without
accompan ying pro duct c hanges. Therefore, do not exp ect a one to one corresp ondence
b et w een pro duct up dates and man ual up dates.
