Rename the Local Datastore

Procedure

1 Click the Configuration tab and, in the Hardware pane, click Storage.
2 Right-click the local datastore and click Rename.
3 Rename the datastore to <<mgmt_server_1_hostname>> -localdatastore.
4 Repeat this procedure for the other management servers in the configuration.

Set Date and Time and Configure NTP

Procedure

1 Click the Configuration tab and, in the Software pane, click Time Configuration.
2 Toward the top right of the screen, click Properties:

a Adjust the date and time as appropriate for your installation.
b In the NTP Configuration group checkbox, select NTP Client Enabled.
c Click Options.
d In the General tab, click Start and stop with host.
e In the NTP Settings tab, click Add and enter the <<mgmt_net_ntp1>> value in the Address field,

then click OK.

f

Check Restart NTP service to apply changes, and then click OK.

g Click OK to exit the Time Configuration window.

3 Repeat this procedure for the other management servers in the configuration.

Deploying the VMware vCenter Management Appliance

These procedures provide detailed instructions for installing the VMware vCenter Management Appliance in
an HPE Converged Architecture 700 with Nimble Storage environment.

Prepare for the VMware vCenter Server Appliance Installer

Procedure

1 From the vSphere download page on the VMware website, download the VMware vCenter Server Appliance

ISO file and save it to the installation system.

2 Mount the ISO image through the native Windows disc image mounting utility in Microsoft Windows 8 or

2012 and later, or use some other ISO disc image mounting utility.

Install the Platform Services Controller

Before you can install the VMware vCenter Management Appliance, you must install the Platform Services
Controller.

Procedure

1 Navigate to the

vcsa-ui-installer/win32

directory in the location where you have mounted the

vCenter ISO.

2 Double-click the installer executable.
3 Select Install and click Next.
4 Accept the license agreement and click Next.
5 In the External Platform Services Controller section, select the Platform Services Controller option and

click Next.
