Procedure
1 Connect and log in to the Insight Control server provisioning Web Administration page.
2 Click HP Insight Control Server Provisioning in the top left corner of the UI, and then click Servers.
3 Delete the server entry for the failed server by referencing the Enclosure and Bay information in the
General section of the server entry.
Remove Profile from OneView
Depending on the error message that you received when you were performing the grow cluster, and the step
at which the error happened, you might need to delete the server profile entry in OneView.
Note
Alternatively, the server entry might have already been removed for you, or you might not have reached
the step of registering it in OneView, so do not be alarmed if it is not there.
Procedure
1 Connect and log in to the HPE OneView Web Administration portal.
2 Click OneView in the top left corner of the UI and then click Server Profiles.
3 Power off the server.
4 Locate the server profile for the failed server by referencing the server hardware.
The enclosure and bay for the server profile are located in the General section of the Overview window
for a server profile, in the Server hardware field.
Note
To make the blade easier to locate, each name is prefixed with the name of the VMware cluster in
which it was deployed.
5 To power off, select Actions > Power off in the upper-right corner.
6 To remove the server profile, select Actions > Delete in the upper-right corner.
Reset the Blade Through Intelligent Provisioning
The final tasks are to clear the configuration on the HPE Smart Array controller and to reset the BIOS back
to the factory defaults.
Provisioning
1 Connect and log in to the HPE iLO of the server you are resetting.
2 Select Information > Overview, and from the Overview window, launch the .NET or Java Remote
Console.
3 Select Power Switch > Momentary Press.
4 While the system is booting. press F10 when the option is available, to boot into HPE Intelligent Provisioning.
5 When Intelligent Provisioning is loaded, click Perform Maintenance.
a For a solution that uses local boot and an HPE Smart Array, click the HP Smart Storage Administrator
(SSA) icon.
b Click the Smart Array controller from the left side and then click Configure.
c Click Clear Configuration, and click Clear in the pop-up dialog box.
d Click Finish.
e Click the X on the top-right of the screen, and click OK.
6 Click the Erase icon.
7 Select Reset for all three options, and click Erase.
8 When the operation is complete, the iLO might reset, in which case you must reconnect after 30 seconds
to the iLO/Remote Console.
9 Back on the Remote console, click Reboot, and if that does not work, select Power Switch > Reset from
the top left corner of the Remote Console window.
