Checks
The sowing quality essentially depends on the
adjustments and checks made prior to and dur-
ing sowing, as well as on regular servicing and
maintenance of the machine.
Before starting sowing you should therefore
carry out all maintenance and lubrication work.
Checks before and during sowing
Machine
¾
Has the machine been hitched up correctly
and are the coupling devices locked?
¾
Have the hydraulic lines been connected
without being mixed up by mistake?
¾
Two-pint hitching - have the tractor link arms
been locked to reduce sideways movement?
¾
Adjustable drawbar hitching - is the cylinder
locked for road travel and does the cylinder rest
on the clips or is the piston rod fully retracted.
¾
Have the piston rods of the undercarriage
cylinders been filled up with green aluminium
clips for road transportation and has the ma-
chine been lowered on these clips?
¾
Have two aluminium clips been applied to the
top link for road travel and is the machine fully
tilted forward?
¾
Have the safety catches been engaged and
does the light system work properly?
¾
Is the wing hydraulics pre-loaded with min. 80
bar in working position?
¾
Have the bout markers been set to the cor-
rect length?
¾
Is the machine completely raised or do the
tractor link arms need to be limited in depth?
¾
Has the machine been levelled and the drilling
depth correctly adjusted?
Parking the machine
In order to avoid damage caused by moisture
the machine should preferably be parked in a
barn or under a roof.
¾
Park the machine on level and solid ground.
¾
Use the support on the seed wagon.
¾
Turn the coulter pressure control back in order
to relieve the rubbers so that they will not lose
their tensioning force.
¾
Disconnect electrical and hydraulic connec-
tions from the tractor. Hook the plug connec-
tors to the brackets provided for this purpose.
¾
Unhitch the machine.
¾
Empty the seed hopper.
¾
Clean the metering unit.
¾
Close the seed hopper.
¾
Store the monitor in a dry room.
¾
Keep rubber elements free of oil and grease.
¾
Equipment with pneumatic brake; drain air
reservoir and seal hose couplings during
longer downtime periods.
Thoroughly clean the machine and
hopper if solid fertiliser was used. Fer-
tiliser is aggressive and speeds up the
corrosion process. It especially attacks
galvanised components.
