During drilling the parallel guides of the drill units
should preferably be in horizontal position.

Single grain coulter discs
With their wedge shaped arrangement the coul-
ter discs open the seed channel for the seed
placement.
In order to avoid blockage and uneven wear of
the coulter discs, the coulter discs are screwed
on at the front with slight pre-tension to one
another.
This pre-tension will reduce due to wear and the
discs will no longer have contact.
In this case the discs must be renewed or re-
adjusted:

Unscrew the depth guide wheels. See chapter
about depth guide wheels.

Loosen the screws (1) and take them off to
-
gether with the coulter disc.
¾
Remove the spacer disc(s) (2) and add them
at the front of the coulter disc.
¾
Fasten the coulter disc again with the screw
(1). Tighten the screws with
90 ft-lbs
.
¾
Make this change to both coulter discs.
¾
Check for pre-tension and free rotation.
After this change to the coulter discs check also
the position of the depth guide rollers,
All three spacer discs must always be
present on the axle!
