Adjusting the coulter
pressure
During drilling the weight of the frame presses
the coulter discs into the ground, until the depth
guide rollers rest on the ground.
The coulter pressure is additionally increased by
applying fan drive pressure to the coulter pres-
sure cylinders - see hydraulic diagram.
The coulter pressure can only be adjusted on
the valve while the fan is running.
Per 1 bar hydraulic pressure the coulter discs
are pressed into the ground with an
additional force of approx.
2.2 lbs
.

In the area of the tractor tracks the drill units
can be additionally pre-tensioned with springs.
This way the deeper tractor tracks can be com-
pensated.
With the two bores in the bracket and the two
bores in the parallel guide the coulter pressure
can be increased in 4 steps.

Set the drilling depth identically on all drill
units.
Check the seed placement whenever
changing the depth setting.
If the seed placement is adjusted deeper, you
must check the coulter pressure. If necessary
you must increase the coulter pressure in order
to assure the drilling depth.
The depth guide rollers must be suffi
-
ciently pressed against the ground and
the wheel must always be able to turn.
However, the pressure should not be
higher than necessary.
