7.5.3.3 Interrelationship drilling depth – coulter pressure
Changes to the drilling depth mainly effect the placement depth but also the coulter
pressure and the pressure wheels.
Changes to the coulter pressure adjustment mainly effect coulters and pressure
wheels, but also have an influence on the drilling depth.

Check the coulter pressure in the field after each change of drilling depth.
Ø
Check the drilling depth in the field after each change of the coulter pressure.
7.5.3.4 Setting the depth
It is highly recommended to find the correct setting by trying and testing.
Ø
Turn the coulter pressure adjustment back to a low pressure.
Ø
Insert the same quantity and colour combination of aluminium clips on the hy-
draulic cylinders.
Ø
Lower the machine onto the aluminium clips while in working position. There-
after, switch the control unit to the floating position.
Ø
Drive a few meters in the field, check the submersion depth of the coulters
and the consolidation caused by the pressure wheels, re-adjust if necessary.
If the desired adjustment cannot be found within the coulter pressure adjustment
range, the process must be repeated using the next lower setting on the hydraulic
cylinder, until the correct setting is found.
7.5.3.5 Adjusting the lowering speed
On machines with three-point hitching the operator can adjust the lowering speed
for the seed bar or the Maestro RC coulter rail via a hand wheel.
