Tine Harrow
The machine may be outfitted with a spring tooth tine harrow as an optional rear finishing attachment.
The tine harrow is used to smooth and level the ground as well as loosen it after it has been plowed and
packed. Harrows assist in removing dead thatch by lifting it out of the dirt where it can lay on top of the
soil to dry it out and kill the root. Harrowing also improves soil aeration and water filtration. Harrows can
also be used to assist in refining seedbed preparation before planting and used for covering seed if used
in a preventative plant or cover crop operation where seed is blown or broadcast prior to the harrow.
A harrow is usually arranged in three (3) offset rows/bars as a typical configuration.

Setting:
The harrow is lowered to the ground the same as the lift system for the machine. However, the angle of
the harrow is adjustable for setting the aggressiveness of the tines. Tines that are more vertical are at
the most aggressive position for more soil disruption, whereas tines that are angled back more are less
aggressive with less soil disruption leaving a finer field finish.
To set the harrow to the desired angle simply remove the hitch pins used to secure the harrow in place
and move the harrow to the desired angle then insert the hitch pin to the appropriate hole securing the
harrow.
